Three counties are to shortly benefit from rice threshing, drying and milling facilities.
USAID Food and Enterprise Development Chief of Party, Lee Rosner made the disclosure Monday.
He identified the three core agriculture counties of Liberia --- Bong, Nimba and Lofa as the beneficiaries.
Rosner said with few months to the entity’s December 2016 closure, USAID-FED is also constructing nine new rice hubs, three in each of the same counties.
He said the facilities which are under construction will be fully operational by July 30 and will complement the ten others that are fully functional in the counties.
USAID-FED is a five-year 75- million US dollar project of the United States Government being implemented in several African countries.
The project, which began in September 2011, is primarily focused on four value chains - rice production, cassava, vegetables and goat raising according to LINA.
